Monuments and sights

From the point of view of natural science, there is a remarkable natural reserve locality  behind the dam of the middle reservoir called Betlém,  an elevation of a primeval gravel alluvium, which gives evidence of the natural regeneration of a damaged alluvial plain of the river Dyje.

On the village cadaster area, in the Northeast direction from the built up area, there is the area of a Roman military station of Hradisko - Burgstall. This is the only military station built up on the territory of the Czech Republic dating back to the period of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius´ reign; it was built up by the soldiers of the X legion in the 2nd century A. D. The district with the findings was declared an archaeological monument.  A few hundred meters to the East, remnants of an even older military camp were discovered during a road construction; they date back probably to the times of the Emperor Augustus; near Hradisko, an extraordinary finding occurred of a skeleton grave of a Germanic prince with a unique collection of period objects.
