The archaeological exhibition at the ATC Merkur camping at Pasohlávky, which was prepared by the Archaeological Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Brno, is focused especially on objects which were left here by the Xth Roman legion in the 2nd century A. D. The legion´ s basic station at Hradisko near the former village of Mušov is one of the most remarkable localities of our region. This is the only place where structural relics of the ancient architecture in this country have been discovered so far. In the time of turbulent warlike events in the years 172 -180 the commanding center of the Roman legions was located here to control military actions against the local Germanic population.
The exhibition gives a survey of the most important archaeological discoveries which contributed to the explanation of one significant epoch on the regional history. Samples of works are shown as part of the archaeological research as well as a photographic and picture documentation. Some space is devoted to the most interesting findings; outstanding among them are both the relics of the material culture of the local Germanic population and the objects, which were left here by the Romans. The authors of the exhibition do believe that the visit to the exhibition will help the visitors to intensify their knowledge about the past of this region, and at the same time, the exhibition will commemorate in a dignified way that the richness hidden in the ground is a significant part of the national cultural heritage.
Part of the sightseeing tour is also a demonstration of a video film about the archeological richness of the village of Pasohlávky.
